We are Ed Henderson

A pile of red "Hello, my name is" badges, nearly all saying Ed Henderson in different handwriting, with the odd Edward, Edith, Edie and Eddie.

For years I got emailed sheet music meant for someone else.

There's a composer in North America called Ed Henderson who, as far as I can tell, didn't know his own email address. He kept giving out mine. Scores, correspondence, invites to events I was never going to turn up to. I tried to get in touch a few times. Never heard back.

So in January 2020 I set up a LinkedIn group called We are Ed Henderson. Membership criterion: your name has to be Ed Henderson. I sent out invites. One other Ed joined. Then a pandemic happened and I forgot about it.

Nearly seven years later I found it again. Two members, me included. I'm choosing to call that 100% growth. The other Ed and I have never spoken.

I've given the group a tidy up and posted a welcome. Since then a third Ed Henderson has joined. That's 50% growth.

Growth is slowing.

None of us is the composer.

It's not just banter. Same name, same reputation, so we may as well look out for each other. Intros, work, the odd favour.

Edwards, Eddies, Edgars, Edwins, Edwinas, Edies and Ediths welcome. Teds under review.

If you're an Ed Henderson, come and join us. Especially if you're not sure what your email address is.
